It was a delight to have Bishop Andrew with us yesterday to bless the new Lady Chapel altar frontal made by the talented Cathedral Stitchers.

The frontal is a wonderful design, incorporating representations of the Holy Spirit, and garlands of flowers representing Mary flowing throughout our lives.

All of this is set within Dundee: the River Tay and a backdrop of Fife. Local references include landmarks such as the Cathedral, the whale, natural features such as the rolling fields of Fife, and more everyday scenes from around our city.

The frontal has now taken up its home in the Lady Chapel. The Cathedral is open most weekdays from 10am to 4pm, so do come in and spend some time reflecting with it.

The Friends of the Cathedral AGM takes place this Saturday, 30 May, at 2.00pm in the Cathedral.

We’re delighted that Director of Music Billy Muir and the Total Recall Choir will be with us for this - a real treat, and there will of course be the usual excellent refreshments. Tickets are £5.

The Friends of the Cathedral help support and sustain the life, ministry, music, and heritage of the Cathedral, and new members are always welcome.

Please do come along and encourage others to join us too including anyone who may be interested in becoming a Friend of the Cathedral. There will also be an opportunity to renew or update memberships on the day.

We look forward to seeing you there.
