REGULAR SERVICES AT ST PAUL’S CATHEDRAL
NB – below are listed our normal service time – please see the Homepage for service times during the Covid-19 pandemic.
You are warmly invited to join us for any of our services!
SUNDAYS
10:30 am – Sung Eucharist
A lively sung communion service in contemporary language with the Cathedral choir, Young Church activities and refreshments afterwards. This service forms the central event of our worshipping week.
6.15 pm – Evening Service
The evening services have a more contemplative and reflective feel. They vary according to the Sunday of the month as follows:
1st Sunday: Service of Evening Prayer with prayers for healing, anointing and laying on of hands
2nd Sunday: Choral Evensong with the Cathedral Choir
3rd (&4th) Sundays: Sung (or said) Evening Prayer – quiet and reflective
Last Sunday of the month: Sung Compline with the Compline Choir*
*The Compline Choir is open to anyone who enjoys singing – being able to read music is not necessary – as long as you can hold a tune! We meet at 5.15 pm to rehearse the beautiful plainchants for the service and, usually, a simple anthem.
SUNDAYS (August)
8 pm – Sung Compline (Night Prayer)
This ancient monastic service is sung to plain chant and is a wonderfully reflective end to the day. You’re welcome to join us for a nightcap – glass of whisky or port (or something soft!) after the service.
