About the Scholarships
Choral Scholarships are open to secondary school pupils (S4 and above) and university or college students.
Scholars sing as part of the Cathedral Choir, supporting the worshipping life of St Paul’s within the tradition of the Scottish Episcopal Church. This includes Sunday Eucharists, Choral Evensong, and the major festivals and seasons of the Church year.
The role offers the opportunity to develop vocal technique, musicianship and sight-reading skills, while gaining experience of liturgical singing and ensemble work in a supportive and friendly choir setting.
Scholarships are awarded annually by audition and are valued at £600 per annum.
Applying for a scholarship: If you wish to apply for a Scholarship then please contact our Director of Music Billy Muir for an application form and details on the audition process.
These Scholarships have in the past kindly been sponsored by Blackadders solicitors, the John Ferguson Denholm Trust, the Leach Trust, the Leng Charitable Trust, the W M Mann Foundation, the Scotbelge Charitable Trust and the McCorquodale Trust. They are currently supported by the Leach Trust and the Cathedral Voices United members.
